INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CLUB PITTSBURGH EAST is a group founded in May 1968 by a small group of women from abroad. The Monroeville Center YWCA advisory committee saw the need for women from different countries to come together in an informal atmosphere, get to know each other better, and get to know their American neighbors. So, their help was offered to form our group.

Through the assistance and goodwill of the YWCA, the International Wives group was formed, and a meeting place and playroom for the children were provided. With this support and interest, the first regular meeting was held in September 1968.

Since then, membership has increased and programs have changed significantly. Consequently, the club outgrew the YWCA and thus disaffiliated from it. At around the same time, it was decided to change our name from International Wives to International Women.

From 1980 to 1995, our monthly meetings were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroeville. From 1996 to 2006, meetings were held at the United Methodist Church in Monroeville, and from 2007 at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, PA.  In 2025, the group started to meet at the Program Room of the Monroeville Public Library.

  International Women’s Club is a friendly social club located in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. It was formed in 1968 by a small group of women from abroad. The women met to get to know one another and their American neighbors better. At the present time, there are approximately ninety members who come from all over the world including Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Norway, Japan, India, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Colombia, Haiti, Indonesia and the U.S.A. The club meets on the first Friday monthly from September through May, except for January and February when there are no meetings. In addition to sharing our international cultures, we invite guest speakers, performers, and musicians to our meetings. Membership

  International Women’s Club was founded in May 1968, with the idea for women from different countries to meet informally, to get to know each other better, and to get to know their American neighbors. A warm welcome is extended to all women in the community whether foreign or American born. Maximum participation of all members is encouraged. The members, currently hailing from 23 different countries, present the majority of the most interesting programs. A $30.00 membership fee is to be paid yearly. Members may bring guests at a charge of $5.00 each at monthly meetings; and a charge of $10.00 at our annual May Luncheon unless the guest brings a prepared dish to share. Funds will be used to run the club including providing coffee, tea, and light refreshments, rental fee for meeting place and speakers’ fees.

Our Activities

  MONTHLY MEETINGS Held at 10:00 in the morning on the first Fridays of September, October, November, March and April, and at 11:00 AM in December and May. There will be no meetings in January and February, and the summer months of June, July, and August.  For 2025-2026, the club meets at the Program Room of the Monroeville Public Library at 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd, Monroeville, PA, for the September, October, November, March, and April meetings. The location of the December and May meetings will be announced later. Refreshments, speakers, performers, or musicians are featured. Our Activities 2025-2026 October 2  –  Unofficial IWC Night Out!
